I think it is because people are looking for quick and easy money and don't want to put the work into defining their own trading system or research method. Successful traders ALWAYS do their own research - That's why their successful! SI is a great place to educate yourself on HOW to trade not WHAT to trade. Maybe you'll discover that you don't want to learn how to pick your own stocks. If that's the case do yourself a favor and park your money in some well managed mutual funds.
