Look on the bright side, the Dems just achieved more in domestic legislation than any Republican president since Eisenhower. Other Rep presidents tweaked tax rates and regulations but otherwise, what was their lasting impact on society? The political fallout in November is still far from known despite the storm of rhetoric. I doubt the outcome will make much difference anyway. But when we get to 2012, we will have the party that did stuff and the party that just screamed no as loud as they could. Voters will have a clear choice. It has been a long time since an American political movement actually set out do important things domestically, other than steering pork and bennies to their buddies.
