Only takes two things to summarize my present thinking. The first is that every sentiment measure I know of is pegged at levels consistent with tops (of course, sentiment measures can remain pegged for months and huge moves; necessary, but not sufficient, for a turn.) The other thing - please forgive me for being a bit of a "clown" here, but it explains my present thinking quite well - is a piece by Hussman a few weeks back. "Can we rely on investor myopia?" Provides ZERO trading insight, but captures my thinking perfectly. Investors are behaving quite irrationally right now - risk is quite high - but do you act like a trader and try to join them, letting your stops do the work? Or do you just step aside until both fundamentals and technicals line up in the same direction?
