Did you ever see Swaanoa(spelling?) near to the entrance of the Blue Ridge on top of Afton Mountain------it is a replica of an Italian Mansion and has a garden atop the mountain behind the house.

At one point it was owned by the Russells who created the sculptures of Presidents and one magnificent one of Mark Twain. Russell would take a month in the woods and meditate and then write the thoughts that he received which he felt were enlightening.

I don't know the status of it now----understand it was closed to the public.
