I agree with you Steve regarding labor meaning nothing in the PC industry.
Having worked for years in a state of the art manufacturing facility @ 3COM
and having witnessed other similar operations including Compaq's, labor becomes almost a non-issue due to efficient PCB assembly and hardware manufacturing equipment utilized today.

P.S. I do wish Compaq would maintain their equipment a bit better. I buy this stuff used and re-sell it and in my opinion, your maintenance is a bit sub-par. How are your yields coming off the line? At least you have a better reputation than Motorola in that regard..........
