Is your HC plan a benefit from your employer or do you pay for it with cash out of your own pocket? I'm thinking the latter. In that latter case you can't be taxed on something that you are paying for out of pocket and you can't be fined obviously because you have required coverage that meets their minimum requirements. Obumble plan is still thru private insurers...for now. You just keep your current plan and hope that your premiums do not rise and hope you don't have to pay an addtional Medicare tax of 3.8% on investment income.
