Since I work in the high tech computer related field, most of my investments have been in the area I know best. However, I have owned TX and HAL for several years with good returns. Lately I've gotten more interested in the oil sector, although admittedly I know very little about it (but I'm trying to learn). I have been watching GLM for about two months, and noticed a downturn early in Oct which is now starting to come back. I was wondering if anyone could explain this. I know the high techs got hit by the "Asian flu" and some lower earnings expectations, but I don't think that effected the oil sector. Also about this time there was (and still is) some trouble with Sadam H. What effect will this trouble in the Middle East and possible retaliation by the US have on the oil sector (and in particular GLM)? Do you think the current price (about $33) is a good entry point in GLM?

Thanks in advance for your advice. Bill

By the way, max year charts (now you know I am a long term investor) of GLM do show the stock selling at $300 around 1981. Also, why is GLM listed on SI under Gold Mining (I had a hard time finding it) - doesn't the oil sector deserve it's own section?
