Hat tip to Sully: "Hey, the Second Amendment Applies to Adoptive Parents, Too By: Jim Geraghty The Campaign Spot Ted Deutch, the Democrat running for Congress in Florida's 19th congressional district, just voted against a bill that would ban adoption agencies from requiring prospective parents to disclose whether they have a firearm. To every other member of the Florida state senate except one, it seemed clear that an adoption agency should not look into a person's exercise of their constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights as part of determining whether someone would make a good parent.
