Hi Cary

You could be related to these people
They originally came from the N.Y. area.
If you are I will use your e-mail to let
you know.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I only
got through here once or twice a week.

I cannot give you numbers. Intel has
stated PC demand is picking up from customers
no figures were released.

The big buck Pro's on the street that the
institutions listen to since aug. 20 have these:
COMMENTS (The latest I have?)

Dan Niles of Robertson,Stephens &Co (One of
best Hi-tech brokers.) raised his 3rd and 4th
estimates by $0.05 and more importantly $0.10
respectively for INTC.

First Boston named AMAT its featured stock (Aug. 20).

About Aug 1 Mike Murphy of the CSTL recommended
AMAT. as a blue chip bargain. His numbers lead
him to conclude that that the stock will turn
in Dec. Rated highly by Hubert.

These are sources of numbers If you get them
or they will give it to you.

In this thread it is discussed that there will be
no choice but to upgrade to 0.35 micron for many.

On Aug. 20 AMAT announced it has entered into an agreement
with Belgium's IMEC to develop advanced metalization
process technology. It will install an AMAT Endura HP PVD system
at IMEC. This top state of the art that includes a sputter
etch module that is critical to 0.25 micron semiconductor
maufacturing.

It is my feeling that wall street will again discount in
advance all these things. Please Cary, the company is selling
nearly at its book. It will have earning of a few bucks at least.

In the last quarterly report to shareholders which we just got
(Don't know if you are one?) the CEO speaks of the fact that memory
chips so cheap it will trigger demand based on devices made
from them. I listened to their conference call and I am now
sure they are one of the best managed companies in the world.
They cut back on what they don't need and keep up what they do
on research.

I hope you are right though and we get a chance to buy more at
still lower prices I'm ready to buy more. I would even use
margin or sell puts if it went low enough. I do not advise the
average investor to do this though. Only if they have the assets.

Jerry
