I don't see how it was forced on them unless the bill actually required people to get abortions against their will (which I am in favor of, but I'm an extremist on that issue).

What I meant was that the issue was forced to the forefront of the minds of pro-life groups. The issue was whether or not to maintain the status quo of the Hyde amendment.

I'm curious, though, to know what kind of situation do you see as requiring a woman to be forced to get an abortion? Who would make that decision and how would it be enforced?
