Assuming you are talking about The Liberty, yup, and many of them were friends of mine who had just graduated from The Defense Language Institute while I was still taking courses there. But there was never any doubt that Israel did it. It was considered collateral damage and they apologized. The fact was, the Liberty had evidence that Israel started the war, which would have made them less sympathetic to western eyes. What Israel missed was the fact that LBJ would never have ratted them out if The Liberty had reported the facts to him.
