most curious that you think that the 'greater fool' theory only applies to the so called overpriced securities. why such a narrow perspective? who taught you this biased meaning? fools are quite capable of rushing in for the bargains, however they are apparently created! "it is going lower" (only a fool would be buying now, long the stock or calls) can be just as wrong headed as it is "going higher" (only a fool would be selling so early, short the stock or long the puts).

just check the threads on si and see how many penny purchasers there are. i happen to subscribe to the efficient market theory, but i also believe that i am smarter than yogi bear. i plan to be around for the long run and give day-to-day fluctuations a chance to balance out, and give the 'roi' and 'roa' a chance to work in my favor. thus i don't play the options game and do not short. those kinds of bets are not necessary. the world is risky enough as it is. talk with my feet. thus my view on asnd may be acted on by buying more of cisco if i need to expand my position. nothing is forever, so i am always reevaluating my whole portfolio for changes in the risk/reward ratio arising from changes in management, technology, etc.

on balance prices at any moment are just about right in the very short run. herein lies the problem for many so called investors. they are looking for the quick turn. to see what i mean, go check out the 'day traders' url. when the most important currency is bragging rights, one can count on predominantly real-fools being present.
