One of the explanations I got was that back in time the "blue bloods" excluded Jews from many institutions - clubs and the like - and these "blue bloods" were Republicans. From such the animosity has grown. Perhaps the scales that blind will begin to fall away and their will be sight. In my discussion - I related the Irish experience of my own. When I became a Goldwater Republican the family was shocked. There are now a lot of Irish families who have had to get over the shock.
