I have several close friends in construction . Hard dangerous work. None can afford health insurance, and one almost died a year ago, but would not go to the hospital. Blood poisoning.
Anyway, all three are very hard core right wingers, and very nice guys. The two with families said it would cost them $1,200 a month which they could never afford. One gets half paid by his company now, but may lose his job soon and has three little girls. The other just does without, but worries about it because he had to pay $5,000 for his last baby.
All three dislike Obama, a lot, and all liberals, except me-lol?? I help them get good paying jobs and have made one a great deal of money investing in real estate.
Anyway, when I told them how much less health insurance was going to cost them and how much easier it would be to get and that they could not be denied for preexisting conditions, their reactions were intersting.
One (the investor), is about to go over to the democratic side. He is learning. One is still trying to come to terms with his loving the new health insurance laws, but not liking, he thinks, Obamacare or Obama.
The last guy is such a die in the wool right winger he is just confused. And he is the one who almost died. His leg was completely paralyzed, but could not pay for blood tests..
Lots of right wingers across the country are going to be going through some soul searching, like my three friends. |
