These are facts Al... whether you like it or not. The Fed shut down the businesses and is now working off the spread to finance healthcare.

What facts? What businesses were shut down? What are you talking about? What spread?

The economy, pre_obama, and its financial engine were on the verge of collapse. Investment companies and banks were creating investment instruments and bets that were on the verge of bringing the country to a disaster. Hank Paulson, Bush's treasury secretary was on his knees to congress to give him the power to intervene and bailout a number of these financial institutions.
The economy was shedding 750 thousand jobs a month when Obama took over. In the middle of all this mayhem, GM and Chrysler were going bankrupt, which, if allowed to happen, would have further caused untold pain and loss of jobs.

What would you do? Let it all happen? You guys need to stop pretending that you understand all this stuff and the consequences of allowing it to unfold in the free market without intervention. The free market is not infallible and it's what brought this mess to us. Do you understand what I am telling you.

I am not a believer in government intervention either, but that doesn't mean that it has no role to play either.

Sdgla, you need to start thinking more pragmatically than this...c'mon man...the world is too complicated for simplistic cynical dismissals.

You choose not to be proud of your country so be it... just understand there are those of us that choose otherwise.

Where do you see a modern world Al ? Darfur ? Iran ? Saudi Arabia ? Mexico ? Venezuela ? Cuba ? Sweden ? France ?

See, now that's borderline offensive. This is a great country, but there are many things we cal learn from other countries too. That's my only point. Don't escalate this statement into anything other than what it is.
