Things are pretty bad here right now. We got in late, so just went to the buffet at Red Rock for dinner. Hawaiian guy was waiting the tables (not really waiting, refilling drinks and taking empty plates). Chatted him up a bit, turns out he has an MBA, said all the stuff they taught him there (about disintermediation from the Internet and paperless society) are all coming true. Yet he was grateful he didn't get laid off from this job like lots of other restaurant employees in that Casino and around Vegas. Said they've been eliminating coffee shops and bringing in chains so they can fire everyone and rehire at minimum wage. Yikes! He woulda been better off taking courses in plumbing or HVAC repair!<NFG>
