I teach science. During part of one lecture a year I show a film in which there is a small amount of "preliminary" lecturing from a fellow who taught at Cal Tech in the 70's. He rambles about the "philosophy" of science and goes on to say that 'some theories" are so well established as to be called "facts." Of course I don't agree ... but he gives two examples: Einstein's special theory of relativity and evolution. Friend, we can take some real precise clocks -- put one on the ground, fly another one around in some planes and demonstrate Einstein's special theory of relativity -- and that is just one method we can use to demonstrate it's validity; there are others -- there can be NO SUCH demonstration of the theory of evolution that purports that man or an ape or any other higher more sophisticated life form came from something many orders less sophisticated -- such as an amoeba. This hasn't been demonstrated -- I am not saying that it can't -- but that it hasn't. Never would I put evolution -- on the same level as scientific theory as Einstein's special relativity. I would go further: No one has ever demonstrated the spontaneous generation of a living organism.
