I know because I have been paying into SS since 1955 - from 1955 to 1972 as an employee and from 1973 to present as a self employed person. I have also paid into Medicare since 1965.

Kenneth, exactly what is it that you "know". It isn't clear from the post to which you reply. I am not sure what paying SS and Medicare for any period of time qualify a person to "know" any particular thing.
