Yes, that's a good argument for not privatizing, I know. However, I'd rather manage my own retirement funds. I would rather have them privatize it and tag it to my social security number, even if they force me to invest in US Treasuries. That would be a better deal than all of my money going to pay for someone else's retirement and then my own benefits getting continuously cut.

Let's run social security like a real business. Put the funds in a lock box and put the liabilities on the books. All this obfuscation is very unDemocratic.
