then you take those militia members from Michigan with ya. and the ones in California, including the people there in CA who sent out things about Obama with watermelen and fried chicken (you do realize not a one of those was from the south? maybe you missed that point). your break lines are false, they are what you perceive from your own built in ideas of the world. Mac, you can ignore my personal experiences and blame them on biases but you can't ignore the facts: Divorce rate by state......the majority of the top ten are southern: statemaster.com Percent below poverty level by state........the majority in the top ten again are southern. These numbers are very surprising given that the South has been a huge magnet for jobs, people and new manu. facilities since WW II and the invention of air conditioning. And yet, 60 years later, the South is still mired in poverty. How come? statemaster.com Percent of people of people who have completed high school..........the South makes up the bottom ten states. This is inspite of the large urban populations in the North and the high dropout rate among urban blacks and Latinos. Again, I ask....how come? factfinder.census.gov I bet if I checked literacy and disease rates.......the results would be similar. Waxing on about the South and its glories is great.....there's a lot to love about the South. Nonetheless, there are some deep rooted problems in the South that apparently are not getting addressed. Now that wouldn't be such a big problem if it just effected the South but its not limited to the South..........those problems are effecting the entire nation. I am reminded of the line in Blindside........the true story of a conservative, Southern white family who adopts a black kid. They are at a football game and the wife looks around at the crowd and says to her husband have you ever seen so many rednecks in your life. And then they both give each other a dirty look and start to laugh. Apparently, these southerners don't like rednecks any more than I do.
