The Medicare prescription drug benefit was more limited in scope and was paid for directly out of the federal budget.


The argument that Part D wasn't "paid for", so often made by the Left, is absurd, given the Obamacare legislation -- in which literally 100s of billions of spending is not "paid for".

If I paid my bills the way Obamacare does, I would look send my mortgage company a letter than says, "I'm not giving you the money now, but I intend to do so at a future date when I win the Powerball".
