Mish,

You are confusing the organisations with its members.

Most union members are manipulated slaves contributing to the growing powers of their unions. They have very little powers by themselves. Although there are always black sheeps, most would like to do an honest job and be paid for the service they are giving to the society. In many case, this service is worth a lot more than what they are getting for it.

We should not ban unions as people must be free to join together and negotiate as a group if they want.

But we should ban the laws that force workers to join unions or restrict their freedom of choice.
