AMA (TSX Venture) AeroMechanical Services Ltd. Announces Strategic Relationship with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority

Press Release Source: AeroMechanical Services Ltd. On Tuesday March 30, 2010, 7:01 am EDT

CALGARY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AeroMechanical Services Ltd. (AMA) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (“NCAA”) to provide services and equipment to establish a state-of-the-art Operations Control Center in Lagos, Nigeria. The facility will be used to provide real-time tracking of all civilian registered aircraft in Nigerian airspace and will mandate that all such aircraft be equipped with equipment such as AMA’s afirs (Automated Flight Information Reporting System) product line to provide flight watch capabilities to the NCAA. The initial order for this center will be USD $280,948 with the potential for more centers to be set up in the future. AMA is very pleased to be able to provide leading-edge technical solutions to the NCAA to help improve the safety of flights in Nigerian airspace.

Dr. Harold Demuren, Director General of NCAA stated, “We are excited about working with AMA, who have demonstrated their superior products and have the people to help build state-of-the-art solutions for Nigeria. This initiative is part of our resolve to remain at the fore front of promoting aviation safety in Africa.

"This integrated flight tracking and weather forecasting tool will greatly enhance the safety oversight and surveillance functions of the Authority. One attractive feature for us is that it is a satellite-based system that is entirely independent of radar. This adds to its reliability factor as a backup system. When fully operational, we are hopeful that it will prevent future missing aircraft incidents. The data generated from this system will also aid SAR (Search and Rescue) missions and be indispensable for accident investigation in the country.

"The solutions being provided by AMA will allow us to improve safety and efficiency around our aviation infrastructure.”
