Here's a pretty lame attempt by the Associated Press to defend poorly-sourced news reports that protesters at the Capitol last weekend shouted racial epithets at black congressmen:

Excuse me, but that doesn't seem to state the situation correctly. No one has offered any evidence that this ever happened. Despite an ample, perhaps even excessive number of video cameras at the scene and moment of the alleged incident, no one has produced video evidence substantiating the report that the N-word was used. Unlike other incidents that were correctly reported and caught on tape that weekend, no reporter has claimed to have seen this one happen.

Andrew Breitbart upped the ante on Friday, offering to donate $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund if anyone comes forward with evidence of this alleged incident.
