Their constant haggling to lower the price they'd pay per lb drove a lot of people out of the industry. That and Jimmy "The Peanut Farmer" Carter's ineptitude in anything regarding economics. We've been out since 1985, and (I believe) the industry is now run by a few very large corporations and the Tribes.
