I'm a good CEO. Under my stewardship, I've managed to increase profits at our company steadily over the last 8 years. As I step down, Wall Street analysts and our CFO are forecasting 10 year profits of $5 billion.

Wall Street analysts, and the CBO (and probably CFOs), are all rather unreliable with 10 year projections.

You can't reasonably treat such projections as if they have a solid basis in reality, but that's exactly what you are doing.

In this case the "analysts" projections have been shown to be false in ways that have nothing to do with the changes the "new CEO" made. Eliminate the effect of the changes and there is still no way you get a $10tril swing.

I understand the simple concept just fine, but its just wrong. Your counting vapor as if it was solid.
