Jerry,
If you bought Dell more than a year ago I tip my hat to you. I watched them climb and still kick myself for not jumping in. BUT, I think because of recent volatility in the market, investors are looking much closer at P/E ratios and those companies with higher than average ratios will underperform IMHO. Dell is a great company but their PE ratio made me nervous so I bought CPQ. I know this is a simplistic strategy but I am a simple guy and so I just try to apply common sense and learn all I can. I will hold Compac until the split date and see what happens. Despite all the negative press,

I also like Intel and will buy if they dip a little more. I think their new "PII light" will be an AMD and Cyrix killer. I'd love to see CPQ start stuffing sub 1K machines with them!
