"I am as confounded as you are. I came into the new millennium thinking that the Rs were the smart party.......the clever ones. Now I am finding out that it was a total facade woven out of myths and hyperbole....that the majority of Rs are clueless. I am trying to figure out how the average Rs gets dressed in the AM."

It might have been true once. In the days of Bill Buckley. Then, the stupid were more evenly politically distributed. But the (R)'s have made a mission of recruiting the stupid, with social issues like religion and abortion, and with simple fear-mongering. They have also gone after the financially stupid with supply-side economics in the form of tax cuts that are paid for with borrowing instead of expenditure cuts.

I'm sure the (D)'s still have some of the tender-hearted stupid, but I think the (R)'s have a total LOCK on all the rest, and they've seized control of the party from the traditional wealthy elites.

The Rs have done an excellent job. I have never seen so much stupidity concentrated in one place in my entire life. Its like they have become the proud owners of a redneck bar.

The danger now is that the wealthy elites will take over the (D) party.

How so?
