I have no idea how much a garbage hauler should make a year With unemployment in the USA at 9.7% I'd say not very much. The job should pay whatever the market will bear, not what a union negotiates out of a government. How about they pass a law saying government workers cannot be unionized? Any government worker that doesn't like that law is free to quit and find a job in the private sector.
