A close call often means that you spent your time on something else but did not fail even though you could have failed. Bill Gates did not have a close call on Havards, he actually failed. I don't think he regrets that. I've had my close calls, some of them in business. Today, this means that I know how to go to the limit without stepping over it. However, I don't know all limits, I didn't have enough close calls for that.
