I'll grant you they do it a little different than the US and at the same time state that Israel is the only ME country I would consider living in. I'll bet you would have no problem living in Oman, UAE, Jordan, Syria, or Egypt, if you had a decent job, that is. People I know who live in those countries enjoy it a lot. Oh, and Qatar as well, if you want to count that teeny place.
