watching an old twilight zone episode it struck me how much more optimistic we were about the future, years ago. it first aired oct. 4, 1963. the time setting was 11 years in the future in aug. 1974. lee marvin owned an old fighting robot that he had a contract to use in a fight. so robots seemed at least plausible for science fiction only 11 years in the future back in 1963.

there are also other examples of optimism about the future that seem wildly optimistic to us now.

i believe that if we never would have adopted socialistic policies, we would be very far advanced in technology from where we are now. creeping socialism has steadily retarded our advancement. now that socialism has the upper hand in our country, we might even see a near end to technological advancement and rely on india, china and other more capitalistic economies and copy their technology like they used to copy ours.

i also think that freedom promotes a more tolerant attitude to just about everything. and as we lose our freedom to the socialists we will devolve steadily into a more violent society.

more violence, more work for less value.. what an ugly future i think this way comes.. all born from the desire for 'fairness'. we are on the path that leads eventually to N. korea.

things are getting more surreal. oba-mao is the howdy-doody president. all that's missing is the high-pitched voice. it's howdy-doody time now boys and girls. heaven help us..
