Tim, if we went to war with Iran we wouldn't have INSTANT air cover... Ships, especially carriers are just big sittin' ducks. If they just sank ONE carrier it could mean we'd lose 3000. Navies are OBSOLETE now. They're great for extending your power, but they're LOUSY for "representing" your power. That goes back to WWII when the Japanese rolled out the GREATEST war ship in History and we SUNK it in a couple hours. If we go to war with Iran we'll lose 10 ships in the first 3 days......minimum...
