Elroy, I'm confused about your questions. You tell us you have a highpaying job off shore and live in the Philippines and are a US Citizen.

Where did you go to school? Maybe I should ask in what country??

Our kids don't get much American History in their 12 years of school, I'll grant you. I'll also grant you that most of the kids who are homeschooled, at least in WA State know more American History than the public school kids.

Now, our kids get American History for a half a year in the 5th grade, a "smattering" in the 8th grade when they study civics, and a semimester in the 11th grade in HS.

NOT Nearly enough for sure!! BUT.....

How is it possible for you not to know some of the basics about how America is founded, and at least a glancing knowledge of what the Declaration of Independence says, what the Bill of Rights says and why, and of course at least a tiny bit about the most important document the US has....
