Iagree that computers become out of date so quickly because every new program always requires more memory. I wonder how much ram the Windows 98 will need when it comes out. If memory serves I thought that 16mb was recommended to run 95 properly. New programs is the reason computers are out of date so quickly. You can get by with slower models, but when you know that there is something better out there usually consumers get it. Last year I talked to some program designers and was told that a 166mhz was only about 10% slower than a 200mhz. However now 266mhz seems like a standard on newer models I've seen advertised.
