AAPL to unveil On-Line Store Monday - Yokum ? NYC ? IE for UNIX ?

San Jose Merc reported an AAPL-Direct web store product site written by Web Objects will be announced Monday :

www1.sjmercury.com

"According to a source close to the company, Apple is also likely to unveil a new online store through which it will sell PCs directly to customers, a marked departure for a company that has depended heavily on retailers. The new store is expected to be built using WebObjects, a technology developed by Next Software Inc., the company founded by Jobs and acquired by Apple in January. Dell Computer Inc. successfully operates an online store that was also built with WebObjects."

YOKUM of Borland was speculated on by WSJ's Carlton who just wrote "his" book on AAPL - Yokum is a low key but capable turn-around guy .

N.Y. - has the 11/10/97 2:00pm announcement been changed to NYC ?

MSFT announced a Int. Exp. for UNIX today - remember IE 4.0 bombs out on NT in a network and Rhapsody is UNIX .

Maybe the "On-Line" store is a Different Think ? :-)
