Vanni, Enough antics for now, but its been fun. Let's take a few minutes and add to the "confusion" of what is happening presently at Corel headquarters, which will determine whether or not there will be another Halloween for Corel as we know it.
1. With $20 M in cash at 8/31 and another large projected loss for Q4, Corel must be hurting right now. With WP8 dropping off PCData's bestseller list in September it is logical that the projected loss is very real and pinching. Even creative accounting doesn't help the bank account.
2. To raise cash, would Corel actually consider selling a major application like the Suite or Draw in order to pursue CCC's goals? As Leo pointed out, Corel has shed a lot of unproductive Windows titles, (I'll add "on a dime") without making any real marketing effort.
3. Is a large layoff about to take place in Ottawa, or Orem, or both to cut costs further? I doubt that the $10 M reduction in advertising is enough to cover current losses, at least with the overhead structure as it has been. Is Corel's creditline still available and adequate to bridge the losses until a turnaround occurs? Banks get skittish with lines of credit during periods of losses.
4. Is there any evidence of the new sales team succeeding with placing Suite 8 into any large companies? How about Resero, any word that any firm besides Otis is buying?
5. Is there any evidence that Corel can pick up steam from any of its titles in the retail sector?
Maybe the long awaited major "announcements" of large deals will yet come???
Your insight in these areas would be appreciated to illuminate my understanding and dispel the confusion.
