OT: Arch is correct re the US being a huge exporter. Our entrepreneurial system has worked well and our legal structure has allowed a unique flexibility to respond to market needs. We need to not encumber the system - we need to free it to work. I do not see how current policies work to this end. Increasing exports is a stated goal. We need policies that support the goal. As for a general "funk" coming, I think Kudlow is correct in that a lot of economic activity will occur this year to avoid next years tax rates. I think there will be an increase in capital gains tax revenue this year - followed by problems next year.
