Somehow that mystery 14 million (what data did that come from)gets included in you critique of the healthcare law.... Huh? What would you expect me to do with them? They're there. That politics is distorting their status is merely a side story. But you say you don't think we have the best healthcare system in the world..... No, I didn't say that. I said that I was not among those claiming we have the best health care system in the world. I have been silent on the subject. where would you place us and who is best??? The reason I have been silent is because I have no way of knowing who is best. I make it a point of not having let alone expressing opinions on subjects where I don't have enough information to form a quality opinion. I have criticized the criteria that WHO uses for its rankings. But I have no way of extracting or correcting the flawed portions and redo the rankings so I don't know which country would come out on top if I could. Nor do I see much value in ranking countries that way. There are features in each system that are desirable and others that aren't by various criteria. The particular way that a country combines features isn't useful to anyone outside that country. If WHO had analyzed pros and cons of various features, now that would have been useful.
