Bill,

Good afternoon, Well I promised you some feed back on the new machine and here it is. Keep in my this is my work machine, we are tecnogically retarded at home <g>, computers are my job not my hobby.

We did a few bench marks on compling our new c++ app.

Old NT-P90-64meg took 55 minutes - New NT-P2/266-32meg took 45 minutes not much change there (NT big memory hog). But on a NT P166-64 meg vs the NT-P2/266-64 meg we went from 20 minutes to 4. Big improvement. These are definately fast - when I reinstalled my borland complier used to take 30 minutes it took less than 5, I have a 24 speed CD now so that helps. I had a P120 with 24 meg. We paid about $1700 for P2/266, 2.62 gig hard drive, 32 meg ram, speakers, no monitor. We figure we won't need to upgrade for 2 years. If I was buying one for home I would definatly look at this one. Its very fast, now I won't have as much time to play on SI when I'm waiting for a compile <GG>. Hope this helps a little, you still may want to wait until spring to buy one but I'm pretty impressed with this P2 and it takes alot to impress me.

Have a great day!!

Ann

P.S. It doesn't help me type any faster but sure loads the wed pages quicker <G>

It took
