Shalom, I'm sorry if I offended your sensibilities.
I do not frequent the JG thread and in fact he insulted me many times in my brief visit and demanded that I leave and stay away.
But I perceive it as a cry of his lost soul that after I left (gladly) he seemed to want to communicate, even though it was with that vile poem. Just as Maurice Winn made the Freudian slip that revealed he really does believe in God and is keeping his soul in shackles by denying it, I believe JG or whoever he is really called believes in God (even the devils do...) and his lost soul is crying out from its prison for help, and it is revealed in this manner which is sufficiently vile for his rebellious fallen nature to "approve" and let slip by in communication to me. I considered it with revulsion and sadness also. But I considered it as a message in a dirty bottle from his soul, and SOS, so to speak.
So, I prayerfully replied with the measured response (the poem by C.S. Lewis is good, don't you think?) of a poem which is really about the love God demonstrates toward us, including through his sacrifice on the cross.
Spiritually speaking, I agree with your feelings... communicating with people who are rude and insulting and act like they want to trample what is precious underfoot... is like working with those who have leprosy. But the C.S. Lewis poem that I gave to him is a lesser pearl, not the most precious. It is expendable.
I will try to be more considerate and not post anything similar here, if it is communicated to me in the future, whether I decide it is worth the effort of responding to or not. I hope you can forgive me, Shalom.
