The purists are the old country club liberals. People like Frum don't understand that the purists and the minority are actually them. I thought there was quite a bit of differentiation between Rockefeller conservatives and Neocons. I don't see them as the same. But I take your point that both are minorities within the GOP. I don't know why you would call them purists, though. We're obviously using the label differently. Palin is the purist, in my nomenclature, not Frum, who is big-tent with closet cases firmly locked in the closet. The label I used comes from the RNC purity test.
