I'm not in the camp of restricting US' access to anything. I believe in drill, baby, drill. However, I don't believe that will get us to oil independence. I think we're going to have to have alternatives to oil to cut our usage by 75% so that we consume only what we produce. Then we won't have to spent $2 trillion every decade on fighting wars to secure our oil supplies. It's just common sense economics.

With the money we save, perhaps we can tackle some of your pet projects to provide water supplies to the needy.
