Have you checked out what's been going on in the bankster-gangster sector of the economy, and how many trillions have been sent their way?

I take your point about their offenses but those folks didn't vote themselves that largesse. There are not enough of them to vote themselves welfare. The rest of us voted for the folks that gave it to them. The underlying actions may be on them put paying them for having screwed us is on the rest of us.

As for the bottom 50% controlling the vote, I wonder how tax rates ever got so low for those making all the money at the top....

What does a low tax rate have to do with the underlying problem, which is that more than half of us are free riders? I don't see any relationship. Your mention of it seems like a diversion. It's a common schoolyard tactic--the other kid did something worse.

That there are problems elsewhere does not justify blowing off the problem on the table.

As for rich people affecting the vote, check out the recent Supreme Court ruling in regard to large corporations and giving to politicians...

I never suggested that rich people don't have other ways of affecting the vote. That they do is neither here nor there. Whatever mechanisms they may have, they don't have a majority so the majority retains the opportunity to do something to stop the minority. By consciously making free riders the majority, we are ceding all fiscal control in perpetuity. Please address the wisdom of doing that.
