"That's true. However, the cost benefit is there." I am not saying there isn't. But hyperbole only gives the deniers room to work. The fact of the matter is there are no magic bullets out there. Wind can help, but it isn't a total solution. Ditto with solar. And drilling. Or tidal. Or landfill methane. Or... But, that is ok. For one, it makes the whole system more robust, albeit at an economic cost. Energy is such a major component of national security that it must be factored in as a cost. In other areas, we are willing to tradeoff somewhat higher costs for greater security, why not with energy? I still remember the Arab Embargo. And I can't delude myself that it can't happen again.
