And there is a self interest driving all national news operations towards the view that all important decision making should be centralizing in D.C.

If the Department of Education was disbanded and ALL education issues were decided by states and local school boards, like they are supposed to be, that is a whole topic of conversation gone to the nationals. Why would someone in Delaware care about local schools in Wyoming? They shouldn't be, it's none of their business.

Ditto department after department. Say goodbye to 24 hour national news networks. Too much money at stake to ever allow that to happen.
