>>I just dont think we should be stating that we would limit our response to a WMD attack. If Iran considers through a proxy to spread WMD through a US city, dont you want them to think we may retaliate with WMD?

Do you think it has been just by chance that WMD has not been used since 1945?<<

First of all, Obama's stated policy clearly puts Iran right in the nuclear cross-hairs, since they are not in compliance with the non-proliferation treaty.

Second, who exactly would have considered using WMD on the US and has not done so because of the threat of nuclear retaliation?

Third, aren't fully loaded and fueled airliners weapons of mass destruction? And were they not used against us, despite the fact that Bush hadn't said anything about not nuking people under some conditions?

Fourth, the policy also includes the proviso that we may consider nuclear retaliation against a non-nuclear state in the event of an attach using chemical or biological weapons, so you're objecting to something that just isn't so.

I'm sorry, but your position on this is irrational to me. Makes no sense whatsoever.
