It does depend on the standard one is using to measure--No? I wonder if your feelings would be the same if your Dad had not come back from WWII. It's not an answerable proposition because obviously the factors affecting you and your views would have been totally different, but I ask you to see it, for a moment, through the eyes of war widows and fatherless children and the people who still had sons, daughters, and husbands serving in 1945.
