That's common across animals and anything with eyes. Predators have eyes in front for precision hunting, victims have eyes at the sides and all around. Spiders - eyes at front. Flies - eyes all around. Praying mantis eyes at front. Wasps - I was going to say compound eyes, [they get eaten by praying manti, birds and spiders] but thought that odd as they are predators too.
