Ted, > Why SE Asia? Are the women more attractive there?

There are more men than women in Korea. Same problem China has.

Some Korean men are making up for that imbalance by taking the "cream of the crop" from SE Asia. Attractive women from poorer countries will always make great trophy brides.

> This has little to do with abortion and more to do with a perverse sexism. Women always have been treated very poorly in Chinese culture, and apparently, things are not improving.

It's more complicated than that, but basically the Asian culture is still very patriarchal. Times are changing and women are becoming more liberated from those traditions, but those traditions sure die hard.

By the way, you know how some pro-lifers associate abortion with eugenics? This is a prime example. Don't like how your unborn child will turn out? Just kill it and try again. Not much different than choosing beforehand what traits you want in a child.

Of course, karma is a b!tch, especially in Eastern societies where karma plays a huge role ...
